Church Notices

 

The Sacrament of First Holy Communion will be celebrated on Saturday 17th May at 11am in Church of the Nativity of our Lady, Ardee.

 

There will be Devotions on Sunday evening in Ardee at 7pm.

 

The Rosary and Prayer for Vocations will be said every morning after 10 o’clock Mass.

 

Every Tuesday and Thursday, morning Mass in Collon (9.15am) will be offered for vocations and the Rosary will be recited after Mass.

 

Trócaire Boxes for this year’s Lenten Campaign should be returned as soon as possible.   Amount to date is €12,890.

 

The May Issue of Mattock Matters is now available.  Price €1

 

Collon Parish Council Meeting on Monday 12th May at 8pm in the Credit Union Office.

 

St Joseph’s Young Priests Society will hold their monthly meeting on Tuesday 13th May at 7pm in the Convent.

 

Do This in Memory:  Meeting of the Co-Ordinators on Tuesday 13th May at 8pm in the Parochial House.

 

SMA Pilgrimage to Knock on Saturday 24th May.  Bus will leave the Church at 8am sharp.  Contact Annie at 041

Ballapousta Procession and Patrún will take place on Sunday 25th May at 11am.  There will be a committee meeting on Wednesday 14th May at 8pm in Ballapousta NS.  Please note that monumental sculptors, cement mixing machines and the use of sanding or engraving machines will be not be allowed in the cemetery for the week prior to the Procession, ie from Saturday 17th May.

 

Ardee Pioneer Association wishes to advise that anyone who is due to receive Pioneer Jubilee Pins (Silver, Gold or Diamond) and Certificates should contact Michael Lennon on 041 685 6403 or Margaret Taaffe on 041 685 3831 on or before the 8th June.

 

The Sacristan’s Collection will be taken up at all Masses in Ardee next weekend.

National Council for the Blind of Ireland (Co Louth Branch) will hold their Annual Church Gate Collection on the weekend 10/11th May. 

 

Louth County Council Sports partnership is running an Adapted Physical Activity Disability Sports Taster Day. Date: Monday 12th May, Venue: Drogheda Institute of Further Education. Sports such as wheelchair rugby, wheelchair basketball, wheelchair soccer, Archery, plus lots more. For more information Contact Lisa Kelly @ 042 9324155.

 

ICA Meeting on Tuesday 13th May at 8pm in the Convent Bungalow.

 

A public meeting for the Review of Louth County Development Plan 2003-2009 and the preparation of a new Development Plan for 2009-2015 will take place on Tuesday 13th May from 1-8pm in Ardee Library, Market Square, Ardee.

 

Monster Bingo in Rathkenny Hall on Wednesday 14th May at 8.30pm. €10 per ticket.

 

Ardee Active Retirement Group Meeting on Thursday 15th May at 7pm in Ferdia House.  Speakers from Dundalk Citizens Information.

 

The GAA in Louth sponsor 4 Gaeltacht scholarships for U14 and 4 for U16 students. If you are a member of St. Mary's GFC you can apply on the application form which is available from the Club. The assessments will be held on Saturday 17th May in Bellingham Castle at 10 am.

 

Come on a day trip with Ardee Active Retirement Group to Antrim Coast, Giants Causeway, Dunluce, Carrick-a-Reile Bridge etc on Wednesday 28th May.  Non members very welcome.  Contact Irene at 685 0995 or Madge at 685 3303.
